What is Running Scared?
A chase game where you run for your life from monsters. You pump your arms to run, so the faster you move, the faster you run.
Is it a fitness game?
It's a game first. It just happens to be a serious workout. If you want to push harder, turn on Scared Fitness mode.
Do I need a lot of space?
You can use a room boundary or a stationary one. You'll need about 2m x 2m, enough to swing your arms freely.
Can I play seated?
Yes. Standing gives the best experience, but there's an accessibility option for players who can't stand. In seated mode, press A or B to turn 180 degrees and see the monster.
Can I play in mixed reality?
Yes. You can play in full VR or mixed reality, and switch between them in the Options screen.
What is Scared Fitness mode?
Scared Fitness splits movement 50/50 between your legs and arms. Squats work best, and they're safer than running on the spot.
Why doesn't the game re-centre when I press the Meta button?
The game uses a special anchor that fixes it in place in your room, rather than centring it on you. So if you take the headset off, pass it to someone else, or come back the next day, everything is still in the same spot. To reset the anchor, press the Meta button while you're on the menu screen, or use the option in the Options screen.
Will I feel motion sick?
Hopefully not, especially in mixed reality. If you do, stop and take a rest. Playing in short sessions helps you get used to it.
What languages does it support?
English, German, French, Spanish, Italian. If you would like your language added please get in contact.
Is there more content coming?
Yes. More worlds, new mechanics like swimming, and bonus seasonal levels are planned. Multiplayer is also on the cards.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Email info@rayamedia.com or post in our Discord (link coming soon). Please include your headset model and what happened.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled through the Meta Store under its standard policy.
